Refections. day 38 of being 18

Happiness. An elusive feeling. Why does one not feel happy? Is there something missing? Something you want so desperately, but you cannot get it? So close, yet so far. Would it be easier to look at the things you have and appreciate having it? Would that make one happy? Or fulfilling one's wishes. Would that make one happy? Sunsets and sunrises. Rainbows and butterflies. Snowflakes and hot chocolate. Why do these things make one happy? Is it the good memories linked to such objects? Or is it the biological changes that make one feel happy? Happiness. Maybe, just maybe, one day we'll find it.

Random Thoughts of a New Year
There are 7 billion people in the world, people are always thinking about finding one, the one. Assuming the world has an equal number of males and females, that would be approximately 3.5 billion girls. The odds of finding the one is 1 in 3.5billion. Sad huh..
On a brighter note, since there are 7 billion people in the world, we can make more friends, and let all the assholes and backstabbers begone from your friends list. If only everyone would make more friends, to accept stranger's greetings, to change people's perspective of the society's norm. where a stranger is a potential friend rather than some guy or girl with an ulterior motive. And similarly, this world would be a better place if we do not misplace people's trust, and vice versa.
Making new friends is such fun, it is a joy to be able to find another person to talk to, to laze the day with or just have a conversation over coffee. Your friend may share the same hobbies with you, or maybe not. You may have things in common with them but not always. Sometimes the quality of materials seem to diminish/amplify when one is surrounded by friends. Branded goods do not matter anymore, and even goods that are bought from flea markets may seem so much more beautiful than top notch designer bags that cost a bomb.
It is a new year, have a fresh start, make new resolutions, be more accepting, more mature in thought, more thankful, and last but not least, be happy, for happiness is infectious and that there bringing happiness to others is a joy in itself.
Happy New Year! May 2012 bring happiness and health!

Reflections: day 19 of an 18 year old me

Its not always rainbows and butterflies, its compromise that moves us along.
Its good to control your anger, hatred, towards someone. Violence rarely helps to solve a problem, it is usually through being understanding that the world becomes a better place.

Sometimes life really give you lemons, and pretty sour ones too. Many people say that when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. The key to it is to stay positive. As in life, many things wouldn't go your way, and we should change, adapt to the circumstances. Make a list, get going, do not brood over things for too long. Set your sights on your goals, and do your best. What does not kill you makes you stronger, overcome this period and grow stronger. Physically. Mentally.

Reflections: day 8 of being 18
Tuesday, December 6, 2011/ 4:55 AM
IT is always interesting to live life from another perspective. Instead of taking the train, maybe take a bus, instead of taking a bus, walk. Life's not about the destination, because for everybody, the destination is the same, its about the journey, and it is what we do in our journey that matters the most. Maslow's hierarchy of needs discusses about what people need before they achieve nirvana, and to achieve nirvana, one does not need material wealth, just a whole lot of spiritual happiness. Basically in life, one has to just be happy. Everything we do is to make ourselves happy, so why not look on the bright side of everything that has happened to you? Every new day is already a gift, so why not treasure it! In life, the only thing that is constant is change. Our parents grow older everyday, we make new friends, and become strangers with the current ones, treasure the present, anticipate the future, savour the past.

Day 1 of the 18 year old me
Tuesday, November 29, 2011/ 9:17 AM
Sometimes its not the quantity that matters, but the quality.
As a chapter of life closes, a new one opens. In life, the time given to a person is limited, we should treasure the time around our loved ones, do not regret, never regret. Because the things that we do made sense for us to do it at that point in time. It is through our choices that we become the person we are now, and it is also these choices that will determine how we will be in the future. Do something you have passion in, something that you love, for it is in doing the things that you have passion in that the work you do is great work. Work towards your dream, do not take it to heart what other people say. It is you that controls your destiny, it is you who will drive youself to the dreams that you dream of.
